CAREER CLUSTER UPDATEFCCLA has refreshed its career framework to focus on six updated Career Clusters, providing a more relevant and modern structure for students to explore future careers. From creative industries to public service, this new model helps members gain real-world skills that align with their passions.
North Carolina DPI will be adopting this same framework in the upcoming school year, ensuring consistent, meaningful integration between FCCLA, FCS curriculum, and CTE initiatives across the state. |
Modernized Career Clusters Webinar |
FCCLA actively supports the connection between Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education and Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways. By aligning with key Career Clusters, FCCLA helps students turn classroom learning into practical career skills. The organization places special emphasis on six clusters that closely match FCS content: Arts and Design, Hospitality and Tourism, Financial Services, Education and Training, Human Services, and Public Service.
FCCLA’s National Programs and Competitive Events are directly linked to Career Clusters, offering students engaging, hands-on opportunities to deepen their knowledge, sharpen career-readiness skills, and explore professional interests. As an intra-curricular part of FCS, FCCLA bridges the gap between academics and industry expectations—supporting work-based learning, professional networking, and industry credentials. Members of FCCLA build leadership, technical, and career-focused abilities by participating in projects, earning scholarships, and competing at all levels—from local events to the national stage. Whether designing creative solutions, leading community initiatives, or building financial literacy, FCCLA members are preparing for a strong future in college, career, and life. |
