Participants will be required to view the state Competitive Event Orientation and submit their orientation form to their event room consultant at their competition time.

More information about our state STAR Events can be found in the complete 2023 State Leadership Conference Event Handbook.
State-Level Events
State-Level Competitive Events are being offered for the first time at the State Leadership Conference this year. These events are designed to allow participants to demonstrate their college- and career-readiness skills in Family and Consumer Sciences and related occupations. These events will serve as an introduction to FCCLA's Competitive Events and require a shorter time commitment than STAR Events.

Recognition for these events will be consistent with STAR Event recognition processes, with the exception of announcing national qualifiers for these events. These events are not pre-requisites or preliminary events for any National FCCLA Competitive Event. Participants earning 1st and 2nd placement do not advance to a higher-level competition.

In 2023, the following State-Level events will be offered:
  • Human Services Knowledge Test
  • Education and Training Knowledge Test
  • Hospitality and Tourism Knowledge Test
  • Visual Arts and Design Knowledge Test
  • Real World Skills Knowledge Test
  • FCCLA Knowledge Test
Testing for these events will be on-site at the State Leadership Conference.
