Where Compassionate Leaders are Made

Leadership isn't only developed in meeting rooms, classrooms, or on the competition floor. Where Leaders are Made, service is one of our greatest teachers. 

This year, NC FCCLA chapters will come together to create handmade no-sew fleece baby blankets for local children's hospitals across North Carolina. Every blanket represents kindness, compassion, and the belief that even the smallest act of service can make a lasting impact. 

As FCCLA members tie each knot, they'll also strengthen the qualities that define great leaders; service, empathy, teamwork, and generosity. 

Why a Baby Blanket?

For families welcoming a new baby, especially those facing unexpected medical challenges, a simple blanket can provide warmth, comfort, and hope. 

Our goal is to remind these families that they are not alone. Each blanket is handcrafted with care by FCCLA members who are committed to serving others and strengthening their communities. 

Because leadership begins with caring. 

How Chapters Can Participate

This project will take place during NC FCCLA's Fall Leadership Conferences, where members will work together to create no-sew fleece tie blankets. 

Chapters can help by:

• Donating fleece fabric
• Bringing fleece to their Fall Leadership Conference
• Participating in the blanket-making activitiy
• Making a monetary donation to help purchase additional fleece

No sewing experience is needed, just a heart for service.

If we are able to receive enough fleece, we will also make blankets during the State Leadership Conference.  

Where Leaders Are Made

At NC FCCLA, we believe leaders are made through action. 

They are made by choosing compassion.
They are made by serving others. 
They are made by giving without expecting anything in return.

Help Us Make an Impact

Every chapter can help us reach more families. 

Consider:

• Asking your Family and Consumer Sciences department for leftover fleece. 
• Partnering with local businesses or community organizations to sponsor fabric. 
• Hosting a fleece drive in your school. 
• Purchasing fleece to bring to your Fall Leadership Meeting. 
• Making a financial donation to support the project. 

Together, we can wrap hundreds of babies in warmth and remind families across North Carolina that comeone cares.
